Pexie Haircuts For Teenage Girls

We have seen an increase in the haircuts and hairstyles that are based loosely on the short styles which are created with the use of a pixie haircut. Pixie haircuts can be recognized by the short wisps that are created through the hairstyle, similar to a hair style that can be seen on the likes of a fairy, hence the name.

These short haircuts are perfect for those with small facial features and can actually be quite versatile when it comes to the hair styles that can be created from the cut. With the use of different products the individual is able to curl the hair, create small waves or even sweep the hair to one side with the use of bangs and parting methods.

Pixie haircuts are especially popular for teens that are seeking something new, a different kind of hairstyle. The haircut can be easily created to compliment the unique features of the teen and there are various lengths which can be treated with various colors to change the look of the hair.

These haircuts are popular, but it is important to take into account the time that it would take to grow the hair after the style has been changed. The in-between stages from a pixie haircut to short and medium length hair can leave you limited when it comes to certain styles.

10 Sexiest Hairstyles Ever made

1.Tousled waves

Ditch the curling iron, and instead spritz your hair with a setting spray (if hair is thick or wavy) or thickening spray (if it's fine). Dry it until it's only slightly damp, then part your hair in the middle all the way back to the nape of your neck. Gather one of the two sections of hair at ear level, twirl it around on itself to form a loose bun, and pin it behind your ear. Repeat on the other side. Blast your whole head with a diffuser for five minutes, leave the buns in for another 10 to 15 minutes, then take them out and shake everything out with your fingers.

2. Wispy updo

The trick to making an updo sexy: Give it some rumpled texture. Use your fingers instead of a comb to rake back your hair so it's not tight against your head. Twirl your hair loosely into a bun, then use bobby pins—not an elastic—to anchor it in place, which will make the twist look slack, in a good way.

3. Choppy bangs

The appeal here is the way they hide your eyes a bit. Be sure the bangs are long and thick, with choppy ends that skim the bottom of your brows. And keep the rest of your style in mind—this fringe is most flattering with a bob or hair that falls below your shoulders and is nearly all one length.

4. Natural texture

This look turns out best when you put in a smidgen of effort while hair is still damp. Run a tiny drop of leave-in conditioner through hair (this will control any frizz), part your hair as you normally would, tuck it behind your ears, and leave it that way until it's dry. You'll end up with a gentle wave in front.

Natural textured Hair

5. Bouncy ponytail

OK, this one's really simple—but it makes even fine hair look flirty in a ponytail. First, run a large drop of thickening cream through damp hair before blow-drying. Then, use your fingers, not a brush, to gather your hair back (not too tightly, though—you want there to be some wisps around your face). Place the ponytail about two inches below your crown—any higher and you'll look like a genie. Finally, tease the underside of the ponytail with a paddle brush for extra bushiness. (The brush won't tangle the hair the way a teasing comb can.)

6. Half-up hair

To keep this style from looking too prim (or preschool), mist your roots when they're dry with a bit of texturizing spray, which makes them slightly fuzzy, and create a messy center part. Then, pull back just the top layer of hair on each side of your face—the bottom layers should fall over your ears. Fasten the pulled-back pieces into a small ponytail just below your crown with a thin elastic—barrettes are too girlish—and don't worry about any strays.

7. Spiky knot

There's nothing attractive about a two-minute man. But this two-minute hairstyle? We love. Make a ponytail just above the center of the back of your head and lightly tease the tail, then haphazardly twist it around into a bun and pin in place—but leave the ends sprouting out so it seems more casual. (Feel free to pull a few pieces out of the twist.)

Spiky Knot

8. Messy low ponytail

The key here is a slightly frizzy texture. Before pulling your back hair, lightly massage your scalp with your fingertips—this creates a bit of volume and the fuzziness you want. Then, loosely gather your hair at the nape of your neck and wrap an elastic around it so the band is about a half-inch away from your scalp. For extra oomph, lightly tease the underside of the tail with a paddle brush.

Messy Low Ponytail

9. Teased crown

Adding just a little height at the crown injects some Bardot-style sex appeal. Gently tease just your roots until there is lift, but not so much that it looks like you have a lump on your head. Smooth over the teased hair with your hands, then leave your hair down or pull it into a low, loose ponytail.

10. Straight hair

For a smooth blowout that still has some bounce, prep hair with the right product: volumizer on fine hair; a nickel-size drop of gel throughout curly hair; and on thick hair, a heat-protecting spray from mid-length to the ends. Blow-dry hair in sections using a large round brush; when finished, rub of drop of shine serum between your palms and skim them over the hair just from the ears down.

Ponytail Hairstyles

To go from day to night in just a few minutes, take those curled strands and pull them back into a high ponytail, one of the trendiest nighttime looks around. Pull bangs out through the front for a super soft finish.

The ponytail updo hair style starting becoming a fashion style at many celebrity events. No longer is the ponytail resigned to only the gym, it can now be worn for formal events. The secret to getting a ponytail hair style to look good is keeping the hair shiny and healthy looking.

If you plan to have a straight and smooth ponytail, you will first want to blow dry the hair and flat iron it from roots to the ends. Apply a shine serum or hair product with silicone to get that extra shiny look.

For the curly ponytail, you will need to add the curls all over with a curling iron or hot rollers. Always allow the hair to cool completely before trying to shape or position the curls.

Paris is wearing a side ponytail with loose waves on the ends. The top of the hair is kept smooth and she also has a few side-swept bangs. This type of hair style will look great with matching earrings and necklaces!

Q&A: Avoiding Cross Shadows When Rim-Lighting

Strobist reader Ed Roper asks:
I've been using a three-light setup, but running into a pesky shadow problem. Below is an example setup shot with the shadows highlighted. As you can see, I'm already using grids to try to cut down on the spill.

Are these cross shadows just a fact of life when trying to wrap full body like this?

The good news, Ed, is that you have exactly the light mods you need to do this well. And the fix is easy…

*We can choose our friends, but not our neighbors. We can make history but cannot unmake geography. Therefore we need to build on what we have..

*All changes, even the most longed for, have their melancholy; for what we leave behind us is a part of ourselves; we must die to one life before we can enter another..

Bjorn Stopped By the House on the Way Home…

I first met photographer / retoucher Bjorn Holland in London a few years ago, just before he was to head out on a little motorcycle ride. Eighty thousand miles later, he stopped by my house for a visit on the last leg of his round-the-world trip.

Given that he did not have an official portrait from the journey, we decided to fix that with a trio of speedlights -- and one very big light mod… Read more »

If You Build This Fulgurator-on-the-Cheap, Use it for Good

I totally missed this on DIYPhotography.net until Alim Kassim clued me via Twitter.

A little bit of quick and easy DIY (and ball bungees!) turns an old film camera into a focusing strobe projector. You can actually buy these things for some models of big lights, but they will cost you some serious coin.

I'd probably use one differently than did the photog on DIYP. Like maybe painting numbers or something three-dimensionally onto someone's face or something. Great idea to keep in the back pocket, tho.

If it looks familiar, it is a simplified version of the "Image Fulgurator" created by photographer Julius von Bismark. But he used his for public mischief...

Learn Core JAVA in Easy Steps [Page 3]

JAVA Data Types :-
(1) Primitive :
1. Integral
2. Boolean
3. Floating
(2) Reference :
1. Object
2. String

  • byte: The byte data type is an 8-bit signed two's complement integer. It has a minimum value of -128 and a maximum value of 127 (inclusive). The byte data type can be useful for saving memory in large arrays, where the memory savings actually matters. They can also be used in place of int where their limits help to clarify your code; the fact that a variable's range is limited can serve as a form of documentation.
  • short: The short data type is a 16-bit signed two's complement integer. It has a minimum value of -32,768 and a maximum value of 32,767 (inclusive). As with byte, the same guidelines apply: you can use a short to save memory in large arrays, in situations where the memory savings actually matters.
  • int: The int data type is a 32-bit signed two's complement integer. It has a minimum value of -2,147,483,648 and a maximum value of 2,147,483,647 (inclusive). For integral values, this data type is generally the default choice unless there is a reason (like the above) to choose something else. This data type will most likely be large enough for the numbers your program will use, but if you need a wider range of values, use long instead.
  • long: The long data type is a 64-bit signed two's complement integer. It has a minimum value of -9,223,372,036,854,775,808 and a maximum value of 9,223,372,036,854,775,807 (inclusive). Use this data type when you need a range of values wider than those provided by int.

  • float: The float data type is a single-precision 32-bit IEEE 754 floating point. Its range of values is beyond the scope of this discussion, but is specified in section 4.2.3of the Java Language Specification. As with the recommendations for byte and short, use a float (instead of double) if you need to save memory in large arrays of floating point numbers. This data type should never be used for precise values, such as currency. For that, you will need to use the java.math.BigDecimal class instead.Numbers and Strings covers BigDecimal and other useful classes provided by the Java platform.
  • double: The double data type is a double-precision 64-bit IEEE 754 floating point. Its range of values is beyond the scope of this discussion, but is specified in section4.2.3 of the Java Language Specification. For decimal values, this data type is generally the default choice. As mentioned above, this data type should never be used for precise values, such as currency.
  • boolean: The boolean data type has only two possible values: true and false. Use this data type for simple flags that track true/false conditions. This data type represents one bit of information, but its "size" isn't something that's precisely defined.
  • char: The char data type is a single 16-bit Unicode character. It has a minimum value of '\u0000' (or 0) and a maximum value of '\uffff' (or 65,535 inclusive).

    Data TypeDefault Value (for fields)
    byte0
    short0
    int0
    long0L
    float0.0f
    double0.0d
    char'\u0000'
    String (or any object)  null
    booleanfalse

How to Create and Execute a Program in Core Java:

there are two ways:
1. without Integrated Development Environment (IDE)
2. with Integrated Development Environment (IDE)

1.without IDE

Create: write your program in notepad and save it with .java extension.
[make sure that all class names are starting with capital letter and your filename must be the classname which has the main method]

Execute: open command prompt and write javac filename.java [this will compile your java file] then write java filename [this will run your compiled file].

2.with IDE

Eclipse and NetBeans are most popular IDEs for JAVA.
[as we have TC-Turbo C in C and C++]

James A. Gosling, OC (born May 19, 1955 near Calgary, Alberta, Canada) is a software developer. Between 1984 and 2010, Gosling was with Sun Microsystems, best known as the father of the Java programming language.

Java can run on any Hardware and Software interface.

A program coded in Java is compiled by Java Compiler (javac) - JDK (Java Development Kit) and it creates a machine independent byte code (.class file) which we can run by using JVM (Java Virtual Machine) which has a compiler named JIT (just-in-time).

Nikon Announces Nikon 1 Mirrorless Cameras

...with a proprietary hot shoe. Oh, and a teeny tiny chip, too. It'll take your DSLR lenses, with only a 2.7x crop factor.

Really, Nikon? Clearly this thing is not a replacement for a DSLR. But what does it compete with? I use an iPhone (and a Canon G-series) for everything else.

Really hard to understand what they were thinking on this. My thoughts pretty much echo those of Charlie Sorrel at Gadget Lab.

Welcome to the final -- and most difficult -- assignment for Boot Camp 3.

This one will be more involved than the other three, but the prizes have been amped up to reflect that. And I can honestly say that I do not know a single editorial photographer who would not be happy to receive this exact assignment. Read more »
